And one more (Major) lesson from history:

Last week we talked a little bit about what we can learn from history. About this time next year I will be celebrating my 60th birthday (ouch!). That give me a little bit of history to learn from. Take with me a few minutes and look at some of the things that have happened over the last 60 years.

The Cuban missile crisis; President Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assassinated; major riots on college campuses and in US cities; Watergate; 18% inflation; the Cold War; Black Friday where the Dow dropped 22.6%; the Viet Nam war; Gulf wars; Columbine High School shootings; the Dot Com bubble burst; and the World Trade Center being attacked by Terrorists. I am sure you can add many events that I did not recall that should be included.

To this list, there are other personal crises that I have seen over these 60 years. From employment and health issues to financial and personal family issues, the list can get rather long.

But now for the major lesson from history. Lamentations 3:22-23 says: The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

The lesson is that God uses money and our finances to demonstrate His faithfulness. Take this crazy time in our economy to look back over your personal life as well as world events to see if you don't come to the same conclusion that I do. God is faithful. He took care of me in the past and He will take care of me through this current economic downturn in the economy.

I would love to hear from you as to the details as to how you have seen God's faithfulness demonstrated in your life.
